Xibo v4.5 - and the future of release notes

Hi everyone,

Great news - we have just released Xibo v4.5. Xibo 4.5 is our biggest visual refresh to date - a completely modernised interface with quality of life improvements. You can find the release notes in our new location here, with all the information and links you’re used to!

Release notes location is changing (for the better)

We’re making some changes to where you’ll find release information for Xibo going forward, aimed at making it easier to find what you need, where you need it. From today, release notes for the CMS and commercial players will migrate to our new Documentation site, docs.xibosignage.com and have its own Changelog section. This allows us to make general improvements in how we can communicate what we have changed in the CMS and Player and make it easier to understand what has been included and why. The new site also has advanced AI assistant capabilities making it quicker to find the information you need.

What’s staying here on Community?

Release notes for our open source player apps, Windows and Linux, will continue to be published here, same as always. They will include the download links and directions to the GitHub releases.

What’s moving?

Release notes for the Xibo CMS and our commercial player apps (Android, webOS, Tizen, ChromeOS) are moving over to our new documentation site. You’ll find them alongside the docs for the feature itself, so when something changes, you can go straight from “what changed” to “how it works” in one place — no more jumping between the forum and the manual.

Thanks everyone, and we hope you enjoy Xibo v4.5.

Ubuntu 26.04 podman-compose does not pull in docker.io containers.

Edit /etc/containers/registries.conf

Add to end of file:
unqualified-search-registries = ["``docker.io``"]

Containers now get downloaded and work but with pull warning:
Resolving “mysql” using unqualified-search registries (/etc/containers/registries.conf)
