Windows 10 IoT installed in Raspberry Pi 3 as Xibo Client

Hi! We have Raspberry Pi 3 Model B with Windows 10 IoT as its operating system. We are planning to make our Raspberry Pi as a Xibo Client for our windows server. Can we install Xibo Client in Windows 10 IoT? Thank you!

I’m not sure I’m afraid.

We don’t support the IoT releases of Windows so haven’t tested with them. My guess is that you may have issues running the executables built for x86 CPUs on ARM architecture.

Thanks Alex! But can you give us any suggestion on what client should we install on Raspberry Pi 3?

There is no supported player for RPi

Some people from the community ported the old Ubuntu Player to RPi but the performance was terrible.

The project has always maintained that the RPi isn’t a suitable device.

If you want to run Xibo for Android, and must have a board similar to the RPi, the have a look at the ODROID C1+ or C2. They aren’t on our recommended hardware list, but I have tested them and they do work reasonably well.

Alternatively, if you want to run the Windows Player in a supported configuration, you need a full version of Windows 7 or 10 to run on.

Closed this as it’s a duplicate of Windows 10 IoT as Xibo Client using Raspberry Pi 3
