Shutdown after few minutes player v2 R253

After few minute the new xibo player v2 R253 shutdown ( windows 10)

(crash) shutdown after 3min15s ( xibo 2.3.3 , player v2 R253 windows)

Can you add the log file and give a little more detail ? Windows 10 what version ?
I guest it with the client and not the screensaver option ?

Windows 10 64 Bits,player v2 R253, no log file , crash after 3 minute and 15 seconde.

Player V2 R252 or V2 R202 or 201 work perfectly and don’t crash in the same system and with the same cms 2.3.3.

Player V2 R252 or V2 R202 or 201 work perfectly and don’t crash in the same system and with the same cms 2.3.3.

Can you give further information as to what you are showing when it crashes?

Also take a look in the Windows event log to see if something is showing there.

I disable satistic collect from the cms and the player V2 253
don’t crash again !!and when the statistic collect is enabled the player crash

Same escene here. New player v2 R253 on windows 10 turns off if the statistic collection function is turned on.

Hi guys,
same issue here! :worried:

Have tested with both,
Statistics on: player is crashing
Statistics off: player works fine.

Thankyou to all for feedback, we will investigate further!

Would anyone experiencing this issue be able to provide some logging information? Either as log.xml files from the library, or as a report fault from the CMS?

Also, can anyone comment on whether a pop.db file has been created in the local library on the Player?

Also - is it Individual, Hourly or Daily stats collection which causes the problem? Or all of them?

Thanks

@dan
Hi Dan,
thanks for the response
Here is some info,
I have CMS 2.3.3 and player 253.3
Please see my settings,

My log file content,
2020-05-04 17.31.53ScheduleManagerThreadScheduleManagerRun: Problem assessing interrupt schedule. E = Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

2020-05-04 17.31.54ScheduleManagerThreadScheduleManagerRun: Problem assessing interrupt schedule. E = Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

2020-05-04 17.32.02MainUnhandled Exception: A Task's exception(s) were not observed either by Waiting on the Task or accessing its Exception property. As a result, the unobserved exception was rethrown by the finalizer thread.

Yes,
a pop.db file is created.

The soon i start the player, it shows one media and crashes. It starts after a short while again and does the same over and over.

I hope these helps, please let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks!

Note: If i turn off the stats, player works fine.

I got this from the CMS for the same player,

Thanks for the response!
It would be really useful if you could put your Log Level to Audit in the Display Profile and then repeat the tests?

The logs you’ve provided already are definitely useful, but we don’t make much use of Tasks in the code, so I suspect a library uses them under the hood.

The error about interrupt schedule might be a red herring, however good to understand - can you also see an interrupt.json in the local library and paste its contents?

Is it 0Kb or does it have a size to it?

I guess its also set to ON in the Display Profile then? But what is the aggregation level?

Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan,
thanks for the response
I have now turned the log level to audit on display profile.
Please see my settings.

Here are my settings for the stats on display profile,

pop.db
The size is informed as 8kb.

Please see the content here,

null

There is nothing more in the json file which IMO doesn’t look okay.

I hope these helps!

Thanks for the reply - i’m tracking a bug report for this issue here:

Another case of this reported here: SQL-issue on Windows 10

We have a new build of the player which we hope will fix the issue, updated in the release page: https://github.com/xibosignage/xibo-dotnetclient/releases/download/2R253/xibo-client-v2-R253.5-win32-x86.msi
