im trying to create a digital signage for our foreign exchange company out of xibo 1.7.3. everything seems fine on preview layout
but when i tried to play my created layout on the xibo client 1.7.3…only the background region is showing and all other regions that ive created were not showing …
ive already tried and check everything including scheduling, display settings etc…
i hope someone can help me…tia

If that doesn’t solve it, please can you describe what you’ve put in the other regions on your layout, and confirm that you don’t have any overlapping regions.
The status you mention in the thread title is normal. It just means that the Player is between collections from the CMS so it’s sleeping waiting for the timer to elapse. It will then connect again and pickup updated content/scheduling information.

btw im currently using internet explorer 9 on windows 7 64bit…i cant export my layout for some reason(There has been an application error.Can’t create ZIP. Error Code: 11)

ive already deleted my previous layout due to frustration so here’s what i did in my current layout…
currently…my layout consist of 3 regions only because i want fix my problem first before continuing
1st region is the background…600 second is the duration and i did put number 1 on the layer
2nd region is some pictures of what we’re offering …it consist of 6 pictures with 4 seconds duration and layer number 2
3rd region is the ticker of what were selling… i use a dataset to post the currencies that we’re selling, marquee left to right and layer number 3
again…everything seems fine on the cms preview but only the background region is showing when i try to play it in the client side
Your regions cannot overlap, so if you’ve put one in as a background then you will have regions that are on top of eachother.
You can set a layout background image in the Options menu from the layout designer. You then draw regions on top of that.
Error 11 from the zip module also suggests you have a permissions problem in your Xibo library on the CMS. You need ot ensure that the webserver can write to the whole directory, and any sub directories (particularly the temp one)
I’m not sure if I should open up a new Ticket for this issue, but it seems to be related although my circumstances/setup are slightly different
I have a similar problem in my test environment in v1.7.4. My setup is Windows 8.1 as ”server”
running XAMPP (not IIS) and Windows 7 Client (Client version 1.7.3). I have a single schedule/layout running on the client 6am-5pm every day (it’s nothing fancy - just an html file with an embedded SWF file both of which reside on an internal web server) and the “default” layout is an html file stored on the CMS server.
Default browser on the client is Chrome
When the client runs during the scheduled hours, it swaps between playing the scheduled layout for the day and the default layout for after hours. When I press the I(nformation) button on the client, it always shows “sleeping (inside download window)”.
The CMS was imported from our production (1.6.x) server and everything works just fine in 1.6.x – so the problem can’t be related to a timeout issue with the 1.7 setup as they both source their content from the same server – same vlan, same hardware.

Sounds like you have interleave default layout turned on for the Display in the CMS - in which case it’s doing exactly what it is designed to do.
Sleeping (inside download window) is exactly what it should say.
This should be a new thread really. I don’t see any relationship to the original post which is about overlapping regions
