New instance of Xibo CMS without display reconfigure

Hello everyone,

I have one xibo instace, which is running on http://site.com/web/. 8 displays (Android Shuttle) are already assigned to this instance, but several issues occurs - Schedule is not showing any events although there are some.

Now I want to remove current instance and start new (Docker one) on the same web address and same key.

The question is whether the displays will continue to work, without any manual intervention at their side, if I authorise them in new Xibo instance ?

Displays are pretty far away from me and I`m trying to have new xibo instance, without touching them.

Thanks!

Hi mig.kus!

I can see from your CMS that it has not been properly installed because you shouldn’t have /web in the CMS address. When you do it causes all sorts of odd issues such as what you described.

Please consult both following guides to re-install the CMS correctly : https://xibo.org.uk/docs/setup/prepare-your-environment and https://xibo.org.uk/docs/setup/cms-installation-guides

Also to authorize a Display with a different CMS you need to make sure the correct CMS address is set under the Players settings, which you can do remotely on Android, Windows, and Linux Displays if you have installed Team Viewer on them previously. Otherwise it needs to be done manually on the players settings.

Hello nell,

Thanks for your support!

One more question, would it works if I create new xibo instance - http://xibo.site.com and do an htaccess 301 redirect from http://site.com/web to http://xibo.site.com

Unfortunately, players are running inside a VPN network and they have no access to the internet and thus Team Viewer is not an option.

Best Regards!
