Xibo server & client

Hello,

i try to run Xibo server and client on same computer under Ubuntu.
I have been able to install both and to connect client using “http://localhost” as server address but after that, client doesn’t look to run.
Did i missed something ?
Is this is an error ?

Thank you.

Thanks for the message and welcome to the community!

Can you confirm what version of the Xibo CMS you have installed and whether it is a Docker or custom installation?

Many Thanks.

Hello,

yes, i used docker to install CMS version 2.1.0 and client is 1.8R3

Thank you

Thank you for letting me know. I have created an issue report for the Development team to investigate further. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Can you confirm if the same issue is present if the Player is uninstalled and reinstalled? Also which version of Ubuntu are you currently using?

Many Thanks.

I have tested with another install and problem remain the same.
So, I confirm that I can’t run client on Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS with CMS 2.1.0 installed with docker and client 1.8-R3.

Thank you for letting me know, I will wait to hear if the issue occurs again on your other Ubuntu setup.

Many Thanks.

I have edit my previous message during your reply.

Test have been done on Dell Optiplex 920 and 3020.
Could it be a display problem ?
Here are graphic card details on 390 :

Thanks for the heads up, I’ve now seen the edited post. Thank you also for the information about your Graphics, I have linked this thread to the issue report I created for further information.

I cannot confirm if the issue you are experiencing is due to the graphics card in your machine but the development team will now have this information so they can refer to it if needed.

Many Thanks.

Ask If you need more informations.
Thank you.

Hello,
If you updated something, thank you.
I you don’t, i don’t know why but after fresh install it’s working fine.

Thank you for your message, the version of Xibo for Linux has not changed since the last release on 2/9/19.

It’s great to hear that a fresh install has resolved the issue, I wondered if you could confirm if your have a made any changes to the device, Ubuntu OS or player Option settings that might help to understand the change of behaviour? if you are aware of any differences with the setup, it would be great to know what they are so I can add them to the report.

Many Thanks.

Hello,

I didn’t change much between the two orthers installations other than making update/upgrade of packages before all installation of Xibo and deleting shared/db directory since cms was in update statuts without reason.

Maybe there is an update in ubuntu itself that fix the problem.

Thanks for letting me know, this information will be passed onto the development team. Thanks again for the information on this issue.

Many Thanks
