Xibo for Android v4 R410 Released

Hi everyone,

We have just released our latest Xibo for Android release. This release comes with two media player support updates, and one fix.

Media Player Support

  • Amazon Signage Stick: deeper device integration with support for Amazon RDM API: serial number, mac address, reboot, screenshot, screen on, screen off, mute, unmute
  • DSDevices: Remove special handling for the DSDA1 and treat it as a rooted device (the device is not Xibo certified)

You can find instructions on how to utilise the Amazon Signage Stick RDM on page 6 of our installation guide.

Enhancements & Fixes

Hello!

I’m having an issue with the latest release on my devices, I have the DSCS9X and DSDA1 and they periodically crash and fail to auto restart the app. I had no issues on 408 and 409, rolling back to 409 has worked for us. Not sure if anyone else has reported this issue?

Thanks,

Ben

Hey BenWood,

I ran into the same issues with my DSCS9X devices after updating them through the CMS. I ended up making a post about it, and later figured out a workaround to resolve this.

Hey MrStefan,

Thank you for your response, sounds like you’ve had a similar issue!

I’ll take a look and see if this is something I want to do, I don’t want to rely too much on custom scripts so I may just roll back to 409 until a fix comes out. I’ll report the error as I have a log for it and see if that helps the dev team.

Many thanks again,

Ben
