As a follow up, i noticed another post about ical (iCAl not working - #11 by mattgrimley), so i decided to ignore the flipclock and focus on this for a bit.
I’m actually getting some errors for this and now i’ve gone down a bit of a rabbit hole related to CA certificates, but not really had any success.
I’m now wondering if my issues are caused by CURL not using my proxy server. We’re an education site, so internet is filtered via a 3rd party proxy server. I’ve tried adding their SSL inspection certificate to the updated certificates packaged for CURL (as per Issues with weather (curl error 60) self signed cert - Get Help - Xibo Community), but no change.
Something fundamental like CURL would explain my numerous problems and some uncommon factor like proxy servers would support the idea that it works for most people.
I need to put it down for a bit now, but figured i’d update you on my musings.
