I have a frustrating issue here and I am hoping it´s just something that I´m missing.
I have the newest stable version of Xibo running on Ubuntu and the newest stable version of Player running on Windows. The player will not connect to the server and provides this message ¨Unable to connect to the remote server." I am able to connect to the CMS via the web-browser and I´ve verified that I can install the player on other Windows boxes on the same network and it connects just fine. I´ve opened the ports on Windows Firewall as well.
Sorry to hear you are having trouble connecting the player. Can you confirm the following:
What version of the CMS are you using?
What Windows hardware/machine and operating system are you using for this player? Is it different from the other players that are successfully connecting?
Have you set up SSL/HTTPS and if so, have you tried the CMS using HTTP and/or HTTP?
I would recommend:
Checking that the CMS address and secret key arebeing entered correctly.
Turning off the Firewall to ensure that it is not that which is causing the problem.
