Windows 7: Your client is not the correct version to communicate with this CMS

Hi,

We are attempting to switch our digital signage end devices from Android apps to Windows 10 clients.

After downloading, installing and configuring the Windows Xibo client I was presented with the following message after pressing the SAVE button.

“Client found response content type of ‘text/plain’, but expected ‘text/xml’.”

“The request failed with the error message:”

“Your client is not the correct version to communicate with this CMS.”

Does anyone have any ideas?

What version of the CMS and Player are you using?

Hi Alex,

The version of the CMS is 1.7.9 and originally I installed version 1.8.0 of the Xibo client for Windows. However, after reading another article on the Internet I realised the version of the Xibo client for Windows needs to be the same as the version of the CMS, that is, version 1.7.9. So, our current version of the Xibo client for Windows is now able to communicate with the CMS.
