Win7: Server unable to distiguish clients

For our digital signage system we needed four new clients. To avoid different configurations I installed one system (Windows 7 with Xibo 1.7.4) and cloned the drive to the other systems.

Now when I connect any of these clients to the server it is not able to distinguish them. After one of them was licenensed, the others needed no further license. Thus they all get the same content.

So, I changed the names of the three others,
each one has got a different IP address and a different MAC,
entered a different name in XiboClient.config.xml -> DisplayName
even uninstalled the Xibo client software, deleted each and every file left by the installation (sure thing: Also every file in C:\Users…\AppData\Roaming\Xibo as well as in C:\Users\Documents\Xibo Library), restarted and reinstalled. Still the server considers each of the four clients to be the very same client.

So how do I need to set up each client so that the server is able to distinguish them?

You will want to open Options on each player and adjust the Display ID on advanced tab (it must be unique) after that CMS should see 4 separate players.

I added a new Player and it went straight to "Display is active and ready to start"? I'm using an imaged/cloned version of Windows and all my Players show up as the same display in the Xibo CMS?

The Windows .net Player uses a combination of identifiers from the Windows operating system to generate a unique identifier to register your Players with the Xibo CMS. Sometimes, if the installation of Windows on the computer has been cloned or “imaged” by your IT Department or the device manufacturer, the identity generated can be the same, which means that multiple Players appear in the CMS as a single Display. If this occurs, you can adjust the identifier that’s generated in the Display ID …
