What domain to whitelist for license activation?

I work for a company with strict cybersecurity policies. Recently, they rolled out a change where any non-domain joined devices are restricted from accessing the internet. That means our Xibo players were cut off from the internet, which is preventing them from activating their licenses. Can anyone tell me what domain we need to whitelist in order to allow license activation? Is it xibosignage.com? xibo.org.uk? Or something else entirely?

Hi jholland,

Thank you for reaching out to Xibo Community!

The domain and their corresponding TCP ports which needs to be whitelisted from your firewall or any network filtering system depends on the type of players you have connected to your self-hosted CMS. Please visit our official documentation regarding Player Licensing here. This community post might also help.

To test if you have successfully whitelisted the ports and that the players can connect to the licensing server, please open a browser on the device where the player is installed and go to either http://signlicence.co.uk (for Android), http://signlicencelg.co.uk (for webOS), or http://signlicencesssp.co.uk (for tizen). You should get a message ‘Connected’ in the device’s browser when it can connect to the licensing server.

In case you are still having licensing issue on your commercial players (Android, webOS or Tizen) after whitelistng the ports in the server side, please open a support ticket by logging in to your ‘My Account’ then go to the ‘Tickets’ section. In case you’d need to reach out to support, we will be needing the screenshot of the player status logs for those players that are having licensing issues. To get the player status logs, you can check the steps here.

I hope this helps!

Kind regards,
Jerry
