I am trying to add a layout that contains a webpage and nothing else. I have tried doing this using the webpage widget (using manual and native) and the embedded widget (using an iFrame), both of these preview fine but when I try to view form the player I’m getting a black screen.
I have the same browsers on both machines (Windows 10) but for some reason, this layout will not work. I have uploaded the layout here (the page it is trying to access requires a login but I get the same issue with Google.com
I have checked the logs in CMS as well as the individual log files and nothing is being reported.
Thanks in advance for any help you are able to offer.
It appears that the website you wish to use with your Player is not supported on the browser used with the player. The Xibo for Windows Player uses Internet Explorer, which is not a browser that the page lists as supported. My apologies for any inconvenience.
I have tried again and am still getting the same issue with Google.com as well and there is no site requirement there.
Could you try using Google.com and see what happens for you?
I have also noticed the following issues which are probably not related but thought I would mention it in case they are linked:
When I Publish a Layout I get a red bar come up saying Layout not Found - Could this mean that the changes I am making are not being sent to the screens even though they show in the layouts? Is there anyway I can check the files that have been sent to the screens to see if they have the correct links in them?
If I press Collect Now from the display screen I get an option to Save. Clicking Save just brings up a spinning gear which just sits there. This doesn’t seem to do anything as the clients still check in at their 5 minute interval.
I have managed to find a work around for the Browser version which is to open the site on another machine then broadcast that screen through a web encoder back to the Layout, so now any browser should work.
