When adding a video that is in AVI format, when trying to play this layout in the cms, nothing is displayed.
Videos in MP4 format are played normally.
I tested on versions 2 and 4 of the CMS.
Hi lgwebforum. I have been testing with a layout containing an AVI test video, and so far I can see iot when I preview my layout in my CMS (4.0.4). The web browser I’m using is Chrome (Version 119.0.6045.106), what browser are you using?
I would be happy to test your AVI video in my CMS, if you can provide a copy in a private message?
I’m also happy to pass on my test layout, if you want to see if you can preview it in your CMS?

I’m using Opera GX, Edge and Firefox.
I abandoned Chrome, for the sake of my RAM, 
I am uploading 2 files exported from Flash Professional CS6 on AVI and with 2 different codecs.
Neither of the 2 displayed in CMS V4.0.4, I tested in the above 3 browsers.

I see the same issue you do, which makes me suspect this is a browser support issue. The CMS uses whichever browser you are accessing it with to play the video, so it comes down to what media that browser supports as to whether it will be played back successfully.
I’ll send you my test AVI video, could you let me know if it works for you too?

I tested your video, and it worked.
Interesting. I suspected the issue may be the encoding, so I re-encoded your test videos. I used Handbrake to re-encode them, the preset was Fast1080p 30, although you could use Fast720p 30 if you prefer a lower resolution.
Could you try the videos I’m about to send you in reply to the private messages and see if that resolves the issue?
