Video editing rabbit holes

Which open source video editing software is recommended by Xibo team ?

Lets name those that makes problems with video exports:

  1. Install Video Trimmer on Linux | Flathub
Does not obey time range for trimming in export.
Exported video playtime is offset in ~seconds

I personally use Davinci Resolve (Free version), but this is not open source.

You could take a look at https://kdenlive.org/, which is an open source video editing software.

Thank you for creating this post 0x0. This is a question we are asked quite regularly.

Whilst I cannot recommend a video editor, I do recommend Handbrake, which is an open source video transcoder. If you find that your created videos return errors when you schedule them to your displays, this is a great way to potentially resolve those issues.
The presets we recommend are Fast1080p30 or Fast720p30. There are many presets available so feel free to try some and see if they suit your setup.

I hope this is helpful information for the community. If any other members of the community would like to share their experiences with video editing software, it would be great to hear from you.
