Video cuts at 10s despite 215s duration - Layout reloading?

Hi everyone,

I have a 215-second video in my layout, but on the player, it plays for exactly 10-15seconds and then restarts (the whole layout seems to reload).

What I’ve checked:

  • The video file works perfectly on PC and other CMS platforms.

  • I tried setting the widget duration to 215 manually (and tried Auto/0), but the issue persists.

  • Tried toggling “Loop” on/off.

My Question:

I have other regions (images) in this layout. If those images have the default 10-15second duration, will they force the entire layout to reload at 10 seconds, cutting off my video?

Environment:

  • CMS: 4.3.1 (onprim)

  • Player: webos 6.1.0 r412

Thanks for your help!

I think that longest playlist/module playtime is display priority.
You can check that out in top left corner in Layout editor near “Layout name” is total playlist time.

Is this the only single video failing or others video files have similar problems and which video formats do you use?

If is this only single file I would also try to re-encode video just to be sure that video file is not corrupted somehow.

If more of files are failing similar way, I would try, as Xibo recommends, re-encode video files with Handbrake.

Thank you for your suggestion.

I have done some further testing and discovered a consistent pattern. The issue only occurs with videos exported from Canva. When I use standard video files (or videos from other sources), they play perfectly fine without cutting off or looping prematurely.

It seems there is a specific compatibility issue between Canva’s MP4 export encoding and the LG WebOS player. Does anyone know why Canva exports might be problematic for WebOS? Is it related to the bitrate, variable frame rate, or specific metadata headers that Canva uses?
