i have made sure to have multiple copies of the installation folder, and renamed the xibo exe’s and each run using a shortcut with the ‘o’ parameter, but still after a short time the sessions close themselves.
even if i log two users onto the server itself and run 2 versions of the exe, one will close within minutes.
Are the versions running as different users on the RDS server?
Also, please ensure you’ve given each instance its own Display Settings Profile with a unique port for the local webserver to run on, otherwise they will clash with eachother there too.
Thankyou for such a fast response
I am using Version 1.8.1, and yes each version is running as a separate user and storage location.
i have just created separate Display settings profile with a separate port and it is working! thanks very much
i have some additional questions though;
is there a limit to the number of ‘Display settings profiles’ the system can accommodate?
what settings would you recommend to reduce CPU usage?
There’s no enforced maximum number of settings profiles no.
Reducing CPU overhead is basically a factor of getting the Players to do the least amount of work possible, so turn off logging, turn off proof of play statistics, increase the collection interval to several hours, and ensure XMR is configured and working.
Beyond that, things like scrolling text will use higher levels of CPU than text that fades in and out.
