Upgrading 1.7.9 to 1.8.1 IIS 2012R2

I am Trying to Upgrade from 1.7.9 to 1.8.1
Running a Windows 2012 R2 Server
PHP 5.6.24
Followed these instructions for a "custom upgrade"
Once I log in I never get a Prompt to Upgrade… What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Where you have the settings.php copied. Must be web directory.

its in the root and the “web” folder also

Anyone? I would like to see the new benefits of 1.8 but haven’t had any luck

What exactly do you have in that folder…as it seems to me like a mix of 1.7 CMS, 1.8 CMS - and not from the downloadable .zip/.tar.gz archive but forked&cloned from github

I mean if you intend to make changes to the code that’s fine, but in this case, you still want to have clean 1.8 installation there, upgrading dev instances is a bit different as well, as you should update the code from github and then access your cms as usual to start upgrade process, definitely not copy the files over the top (which is true for any kind of installation).

In most cases though (and especially in a production environment), you will want to download the normal .zip/.tar.gz archive and install your CMS from it and not use the dev environment.

I go to install it passes the check and goes to a page that doesn’t exist

If you have /web in the url, then that implies incorrect environment configuration, please see http://xibo.org.uk/manual/en/install_environment.html (DocumentRoot and url rewriting)
