I am not able to register any new device on my Xibo CMS. Tried with multiple Android devices.
Getting: Unable to Register due to Error: HTTP request failed, HTTP status: 500, screenshot attached (from Bluestacks - but get same error on Android handset also).
Also, when I am trying to connect already added devices (which are live since a couple of months now) using “Connect to CMS”, I get internal server error status 500.
I have been using the CMS for quite sometime now and have never got this error. I have also not made any configuration changes on CMS. Don’t have a clue what could be wrong.
Turns out SOAP module was missing on our server. After installing the module everything is back in place.
But that raises a question…how come everything was working fine until day before yesterday and it automatically stopped working? We made no change in our server.
It would be great if someone can explain me the reason so that I can prevent any such occurrence in future.
Xibo has always required the SOAP module and wouldn’t have ever worked without it (it is one of the first things called when XMDS is queried - i.e. each time a player requests an update).
Perhaps your server self-updated or something? Lame answer I know, sorry.
