I have checked the supported models list, but this seems to only list professional grade monitors.
Would it be reasonable to expect the Tizen player to work on current model consumer Samsung Tizen based TVs - such as UE50DU7100? This will be light duty 7/5 office use, not 24/7 etc.
Assuming the answer is ‘yes’ should I expect a seamless experience (ie player runs from power on, recovers from power loss etc) or is it imperative to use the ‘pro’ models (or indeed an external player).

Unfortunately this will not be possible. The reason that the Xibo for Tizen player is only supported on the professional Samsung signage displays is because those models include a software that is required for the Xibo player. That software is called SSSP (Samsung smart signage platform), which is a software created exclusively for the Samsung signage displays. it is not available in standard TVs as they are not designed to work as signage displays.
I’m sorry for any inconvenience this causes, but I hope this helps to understand why dedicated Samsung smart signage displays are required for the Xibo for Tizen signage player.
