Is it possible to show pictures (maybe combined with text) with a ticker module? Do we need to create our own RSS-feed for that, and is there any instruction/manual for this?

You can show media rss feed if you provide a link to such feed (you can create one by yourself too of course) alternatively Ticker widget can also use a dataSet as a source and show data from that.
