Text background black for black text

Hello all, Not sure if i am missing something, but our Layout has a white background so we use black text.
The only problem is when we edit the text, the designer uses a black background, so we need to select all the next and change it to white just so we can read it on the CMS end, before changing it all to black again?

This only happens in the editor. am i missing something?

It looks like you’re using a background image.

The designer will use the layout background colour (which isn’t the same as the background image) for the background of the text regions.

If you change the layout background colour to white, then the text editor will have a white background.
