Schedule not running - Xibo 1.8.13

Good Afternoon,

I am currently trying to run a new layout for this week, 2/3 have accepted this change. The Xibo on application is running and on the screen but is not displaying the layout.

I have deleted the schedule and started from scratch in case I missed anything, still nothing loads up on the computer Xibo.

Kind regards,

Elliott

Could you please show us a screenshot of status window on the player?
What’s the player version you’re using?

Control Panel states the Xibo Player version is 1.8.13.

Hi Peter,

Is the information images I provided what you were asking for?

Kind regards,

Elliott

If you could press i on your keyboard while the player has focus, that will show the status window.

Is the user under which the Xibo player runs an admin?

The evidence would suggest that it is a licensing issue.

Indeed, please log in to your CMS, navigate to the Displays page and authorise your display with the CMS.

Either by editing the display record and change the Authorise value or by clicking the Authorise button for this display, it is explained with screenshots here - https://xibo.org.uk/docs/setup/xibo-for-windows-installation

Going to Displays page I can see Authorise is ticked, Status has a cloud icon and Logged in has a cross.

Could you please, close the player, open Xibo Player Options (where you enter the CMS address / key), click Save and show/tell me what it says there?
^ If you will post images of that form, please make sure to not show your CMS Address/key there, especially if it’s available over the internet.

If you have just one player and that player shows as authorised in the CMS, then perhaps the hardwarekey changed from what it’s stored in CMS database ie when you connect the player now it would create a new display record.

If it is a player that was already connected to your CMS, then you can ensure that the hardwarekye in CMS is the same as the one on the player - you can change hardwarekey in the Xibo Player Options -> Advanced tab -> Display ID

As advised I have not included the Address or Key.

I can confirm that the player was connected before all this happened. If I am to change the harwarekey what am I changing it to?

Thanks,

Elliott

Thank you for the screenshot. As the Player was connected previously, you have 2 options on how to proceed:

  • You can click the Advanced tab in shown in the below screenshot and add any letter to the end of the Display ID. Once you have done this, click Save. This will cause a new Display entry to appear in the Displays section of your CMS, which you can then Authorise.

  • If you still have the original entry for this Player in the Displays section of your CMS, you can click the down facing triangle at the end of that entry and choose Edit from the drop down. You will see under the General tab there is a field named Hardware Key. You will need to make sure this Hardware key matches the Display ID in the Player Options, then save.

Many Thanks.

Hi Dan,

Following both your instructions the Player is now working.

Thank you both so much for your support on this, words cannot describe how grateful I am and now I can have this ticketed off as completed.

Many Thanks,

Elliott

That’s fantastic news, I’m so pleased to hear that the Player is now up and running.

Many Thanks.
