I have a wordpress site setup which I post messages to and then pull an RSS feed into xibo of the posts to use a a message system to display important message to our students.
In the wordpress site I have the Post Expirator plugin to set an end date and time for the posts.
The issue i’m having is although the posts are expiring in wordpress, the xibo client is still displaying them, as if they were cached or something.
If I browse to the URL of the RSS feed then the posts don’t show, nor do the posts show in the preview of the xibo layout from within the webUI how ever the xibo client is still showing the post after the expiray date.
I know I’m still running an old version of xibo and the first line of any support is to make sure everything’s up to date but last time I updated I ran into issues so kept at what im running now, which is server version 1.7.5 client version 1.7.3
No, nothing longer than a few minutes, anyway, restarting the client still doesn’t get rid of the post. Deleting the contents of the xibo library folder on teh client does remove the post.
So, from doing a bit of testing I have found that post will stop displaying when they are meant to, as long as there is still another post still displaying. If it is the last post that should expire, for some reason the client will still display it.
