Proof of Plays on the CMS UI

Hi there can anyone assist me in terms of enabling and getting proof of plays on the CMS. I have enabled them under the CMS settings but I am still not getting any proof of plays in the reports. I have also enabled other stats but still I don’t get any stats with regards to my scheduled campaigns.

Have you enabled “Enable Stats Collection?” in ‘settings → displays’?. Also, you need to enable “Enable Stats Collection?” in the layout (layout → open row menu → Enable Stats Collection → check the checkbox to enable), same with playlists, media, campaigns. I hope it can help you

Welcome to the community S_n_Nguy_n and thank you for your input on this post. It’s great to see you helping the community with your first post!

I wanted to add a little more detail to what’s required, just so it’s a little clearer what needs to be enabled.

1. Enable stats collection on your display.

The displays are set to not collect stats by default. You can enable stats collection by going to the Displays page in your CMS, then click the row menu button at the end of the entry for the display and choose Edit from the menu.
When the Edit Display window opens, go to the Settings tab and you will see the Enable stats reporting? and Aggregation level options. Don’t forget to save the change after you set the overrides.

  • You will need to set the override for Enable stats reporting? to true/ticked box.
  • The Aggregation level setting will determine how those stats are sent to your CMS. Individual is exactly as it sounds. This can be quite bandwidth intensive compared to Hourly or Daily, which will package the stats differently and send them as hourly or daily stats instead.

2. Enable Stats collection on your layouts/media/widgets.

When you create a new layout, stats collection will be off by default. There are a few ways to enable stats collection but the most straightforward would be to click the row menu button at the end of the entry for your layout, then choose Enable Stats Collection? from the menu:

The layout collecting stats is only part of the stats you can return. You can also set stats collection for each item in your layout. For example, I have added an image to my layout. You can see that under the Advanced tab for the settings for my image that there is an option to Enable stats collection as well:

You can set this to On, Off, or Inherit, which will match what you have set for stats collection for the layout in the previous step.

Once you have enabled stats collection on your display, your layout and the items in your layout, you should be ready to start collecting proof of play stats.
