Hi everyone,
I’m encountering an issue with audio on Xibo. I have Xibo CMS installed on a local server (version 4.2.1) and two displays running Xibo Player for Windows version v4-R404.1-win32-x86. However, I cannot hear any audio on my displays, despite multiple checks and tests.
Issue Details:
- In the Windows audio mixer, the Xibo channel (appearing as a “vu meter”) shows as active and flashes, indicating that an audio signal is present.
- However, the final output from the PC (through speakers or headphones) is silent.
- I tested the same PC using Windows Media Player and a web browser to play the same files (videos with audio), and everything works fine.
Checks Performed So Far:
- Verified that the audio is not muted and the volume is turned up in both the system and the Xibo player.
- Installed the K-Lite Codec Pack Full for better support of common codecs (H.264, AAC, MP3, etc.).
- Confirmed that the video files (in formats like MP4) are working perfectly when played through Windows Media Player on the same device.
- Tested switching audio output devices (sound card, headphones, and speakers), but the issue persists.
- The players on both displays are up-to-date and successfully connected to the CMS.
Despite the flashing vu meter in the Windows audio mixer, which shows that audio signals exist, they do not seem to reach the final volume output of the PC.
Questions:
- Are there any specific Xibo CMS or player configurations that could affect audio output?
- Has anyone else experienced a similar issue with Xibo Player (v4-R404.1-win32-x86) on Windows and found a solution?
- Could this be an issue with the Xibo player itself on Windows in handling audio output?
Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions!
