Powerpoint files not playing

Issue

Hi there,

i’m evaluating xibo as digital signate solution, but i can’t get powerpoint files working, whenever i start a layout with a powerpoint file the screen of the player stays black and i get an error message in the background (see attached), the missing file in the error message does not exist in the library directory on the client
other layouts with videos or images are working fine

some information about my setup:

  • xibo 2.3.3 running as docker container on a windows 10 pro machine
  • display -> profiles -> windows -> powerpoint is enabled
  • public xmr address is set to tcp://127.0.0.1:9505
  • windows firewall is disabled / no antivirus
  • client is the same machine, accessing xibo via 127.0.0.1
  • full version of powerpoint 2019 is installed on the client
  • registry settings as described on https://xibo.org.uk/manual/en/media_module_powerpoint.html are made

would be great if someone could give me a hint, whats going wrong!

Thank you for your report - i have created an issue for us to investigate it. In the meantime you may want to try R202.

Danke für den Tipp, ich habe jetzt den R202-Player im Einsatz, hier funktioniert PowerPoint.
Ich würde mich freuen, wenn ihr das Problem schnell beheben könnt. Viele Grüße!
