MYSQL TIME on XIBO.18

Dear XIBO Staff,

I noticed that the precious “CMS TIME” option is only available for android players.
I need that option, but since we are using windows players, it’s necessary a workaround…
Do you think it’s possibile, using “Embedded” and some javascript or php in some way, to fetch the mysql time and print in a layout? Or it’s just impossible? Before going into this operation, I would like to ask to the developers…

thanks in advance,
Francesco

There’s so many ways you can set the time on a Windows PC. Xibo won’t work well if the time isn’t correct on the device, so you should get that resolved really.

You can have Windows sync it’s time from an NTP server of your choice or from Microsoft (the default).

So, it’s better to forget the idea to fetch mysql datetime(), rather set the windows time correctly on the player, if I understand well. Thanks Alex, for the quick answer.

So many things don’t work if the system time is wrong. HTTPS for a start, any kind of scheduling you have in Xibo won’t work either. You really need to set the system time.

I suggest for others having this issue (players with wrong date or time), to use the win+r shortcut and the command “timedate.cpl” to speedup a little the process!

Thanks a lot Alex for clarifying this.
