I have an android player that suddenly doesn’t play any movie clip, just pictures. When a video is scheduled, shows a black screen that lasts as long as the video.
I tried different codecs, filetypes but nothing. But the images as showing correctly.
Some days ago movies were playing correctly…
maybe someone have a clue to fix this?
thanks

My name is Jerry from the support team! Could you please try to go to your CMS, Displays, Row menu, Settings tab, scroll down to the ‘Video Engine’ then try to test each option ExoPlayer, Android Media Player or Device Default to see which video engine can decode your video properly. Please note that you may need to re-start your XfA player for the changes to apply.
Videos need to be on a .mp4 format encoded in H264 for best compatibility with the Xibo Players. You may use a tool called ‘Handbrake’ and select the preset called ‘Fast1080p30’. After re-encoding your video using Handbrake, upload them in your CMS and use it on your layout then test if it will fix the issue.
Should the issue still persists given you followed the recommended steps above, would you be able to get the player status logs and upload it here? To get the player status logs, on the Xibo for Android (XfA) app, click on the ‘Status’ and please get a screenshot or picture of that entire page.
I tried to convert it using handbrake, tried using ExoPlayer or Android Media Player.
When I request a screenshot it still appears black, and the colleagues near the player told me it is still black.
Anyway before this issue, I was encoding in the same way MP4 H264 using premiere. But i tried…
I cannot access it directly since it is far away from my home, but I’m gonna take it and test in my home, we have some players free so we switch it with one new.
