Media upload - syntaxerror

Hi All,

I just installed xampp and xibo on a windows machine. Everything went successfull (updating config, …), so now I’m trying to create a first Xibo layout on my machine. Here I encounter a problem when trying to upload media (images) to the xibo cms application.

When uploading an image to the library i receive following error: Error SyntaxError: invalid character. But actually the file was uploaded to the library successfully.
The log is:

Anyone had this error before and is able to assist?

Your CMS isn’t configured correctly for large file uploads. Please read the FAQ on that subject and follow the steps within:

How do I upload files bigger than 2MB / How can I increase the upload file size limit?

Other symptoms include an error when uploading files: SyntaxError: JSON.parse: unexpected character at line 1 column 1 of the JSON data or simply the message true Xibo does not limit file upload size - but PHP does. You need to edit your php.ini file for your system to support large file uploads. Hi alex,

Sorry for the late reply. I’ve been struggeling with the issue some more but now I found out that it is related to the client browser using the CMS. The php settings were already correct.

When using Internet explorer 9 I get the issue, while using chrome it is working as it should.

IE 9 has been out of support for some time.

You should upgrade to 11.
