Media plays on Windows Media Player (Legacy) but not on the player (Err 2099)

Issue

Hello,

I have installed Xibo on a W11 computer, it is now connected to my CMS.
But there’s an issue : it plays every media of the layout but not the videos…

I get the following error 2099 for every video that’s supposed to be played in the playlist : " Windows media player version 10 ou ultérieure obligatoire" = “Windows media player version 10 or later required”
My WMP version is 11.2408.4.0.

I have checked, I have Windows Media Player installed and I can play these videos manually using WMP.
Is it possible that Xibo doesn’t have the correct path to WMP or anything like that?

What should I try to do?

Does the issue occur with the latest version that supports Windows 11?

You could try reinstalling Windows Media Player as mentioned in the last bullet point here.

Alternatively, you can install Windows Media Player (Legacy) on your OS, which might resolve the problem

Hello and thank you for your answer!

I had tried updating, uninstalling and reinstalling WMP multiple times from the Optional features menu… but not from the control panel!
It was disabled there (but it was surprinsgly working to play videos, just not in Xibo?), I have enabled it seems to be working now!
