Issue

I have been playing with Xibo in the last week and I must say it’s a great tool. But also, the documentations, or at least the examples and guidelines are quite lacking. I’ve watched a lot of videos on YouTube and read posts but I couldn’t find some things that in which I’m interested at, and many of the videos are for the older CMS versions. So if you can guide me to resources or tell me to do the following things, I’ll be thankfull.

1. How to decide the transition between layers !? For example, I would like to have couple of ads for a certain screen, one add = one layer, I set them into a Campaign and schedule them as an event, so far the changes between layers have been not smooth, and I couldn’t find how to make them better.

2. Video as a background in Layer, how to do it !? I have been making layers usually with embedded widget, I’m a developer and I’m very comfortable with JS, CSS and HTML. While trying to make a layout I noticed that if I have some video served via some sort of CDN there is some seconds when the video is loaded and nothing is shown, which is not nice. So I figured that if I upload the video on the Xibo server, and set it as a background widget it will be served immediately, and it works to some extend. But sometimes video starts even 2-3 seconds after the embedded widget has been shown, and in the meantime there is nothing in the background. I guess my question here is what is the best practice, how to have a video as a background that going to be shown smooth without lagging ?

3. Loop video. Related to the question n. 2 I want to know how the video to be shown in loop constantly, after the above mentioned video in the background ends, to start again? Would it be the best if I set the layout duration to be as the duration of the video, then in the event I just show the layout? That brings me to the 1st question, how to set the transition between layouts in a campaign !?
