Hello, I’ve just completed the CMS and client setup and am getting the message “Display is out of date…”. I’ve uploaded screenshots here - http://imgur.com/a/IKHp4 any help would be fantastic, thanks.
hmm, one question are CMS library and Client library pointing to separate paths? (they need to)
It seems that you ‘default layout’ is blank, which is interesting, there should be something there - you might want to check that (and set some layout as default)
Did you schedule some other layouts? - for now I’d delete the scheduled events and just focus on default layout.
Perhaps have a look here too Why won't my layout play? / The splash screen plays instead of my layout
You might want to also go to Report Fault page, check if there are any (X) there, also enable debugging on that page.
Also the auditing on Displays page for your display.
Then check what’s on the ‘Logs’ page in CMS
Forgive my ignorance but where do I check the CMS Library and Client library paths?

CMS - Settings, configuration tab -> Library Location
Player, when you connect to the CMS there is local library path (it’s on your screenshot too 
)
Also regarding player, make sure that it can read/write to that location
The paths both point to local folders on each device, so they’re separate. I’ve created a basic layout with two images and it’s status shows a tick.
I see, if simple layout works fine on the display, then perhaps there was a problem with your other layout.
Since connection between player and CMS seems to be fine.

Yeah sadly this layout isn’t showing either. I still see the “display out of date, not checked in with server” message too. I’ve disabled the firewall on each machine just incase…
Tha’ts what’s strange, the CMS sees the display and I can allocate the license. The client seems very buggy though, such as the message when saving the options…

regarding time there it’s this bug https://github.com/xibosignage/xibo/issues/704
While you are it, you might want to make sure that in settings -> regional you have correct time zone.
If I’d have to guess what could be wrong I would say that there was some layout assigned as default on this player, then that layout was deleted and now player has a hard time.
Could you check what happens when you set your simple layout as default on your player?
Perhaps also restart your player
I’ve reinstalled the player now, but hitting the same issues. I thought installing the CMS would be the hard part!

Also did you check the default layout assigned to this display? It’s really odd that it’s blank in your screenshot.
Yes the default layout is the one I’ve created. I’ll PM you my layout. I need to fix the time bug too, as you schedule start and end times but when examining on the calendar it says the event runs from 8.43 to 8.43 (for example) on the same day.
