Issue embedding google data studio screens?

Hi, I have a panel setup which I want to populate with various sources of data. I can take hubspot dashboards and they’ll work fine when adding in (just asks me for logon credentials first time). I can also add google sheets but whenever I try to add in a webpage from google datastudio…it doesn’t like it. Preview just shows a blank screen for this portion…can someone help? (I’m using google chrome on a macbook running high sierra)

I have created a test report on Google Data Studio and was able to display the report. Below are the settings I used:

  • After creating the Report, I next clicked Share This Report button. In the Sharing Settings window, I chose Advanced and changed Who has Access to On - Public on the Web. I also set the Access settings to Can View. Under Owner Settings, I ticked the Disable options to Download, Print and Copy for commenters and viewers.
  • I created a Layout that contained a Web Page Widget and set the URL to the Link I was given in the Link to Share box in the Sharing Settings for the Report.

After scheduling the Layout, I was able to see the Report.

If you have already set the Sharing Settings to Public on the Web but the Report is not displaying, please let me know.

Many Thanks.

Hi Dan, very helpful thanks. I’ll have a play with this. Ideally though ,we don’t want our company video production stats live on the web. For google drive docs it works fine when it’s set to ‘anyone with the link’ so hopefully a combination of settings will enable data studio docs to work without it having to be public on the web?

Hi again Dan, ok…I can’t get it to work. Changed the permission settings as suggested and still no joy. I then went to another gmail account, setup google studio and created a new sheet just using any old template. Again, I put settings as you suggested but can’t get it to display? I’ve screengrabbed what I’m doing below so any chance you could take a look? https://youtu.be/wVr8KCTpwNM

Thank you for uploading the video to Youtube.

In the video, you set the Sharing Settings option Who has Access to “Anyone who has the link can view”.

I instead had that set to Public on the Web - Anyone on the Internet can find and view.

I would recommend changing that setting to the above mentioned to see if this resolves the issue.

Many Thanks.

Hi, I’ve tried this but to no avail. I’ve set to Public on the Web and I get the same thing. Broken link icon and then nothing when I try to preview
