Is tehre a way to force a sync from CMS

Dear all,

I have a pilote customer whith whom I am presenting him the solution and he point out that sometimes he has important information that need to be send immediatly to the player.

For instance I have place in a dataset a list of important information. Customer add some new but the player did not sync the new one which has been enter. I have change the refresh interval of Windows display to 1 mn

Any idea ?

Assuming you’re using 1.8 series, and have XMR configured and working, then as soon as you make a change CMS side, it will be pushed to the Player.

With 1.8, you should avoid short collection intervals as they offer you no benefit. The lowest it should be set to in production is 30 minutes really.

the trial version I am actualy is 1.7.9. When is this 1.8 series is available ? only for paid environement ?

By reducing time interval in certain scenario when they want to push to player an important information immediatly. Like an important alert, they cannot wait for 30mn for seeing the display update impossible. And it is understandable

1.8.0 was released last week and is a free upgrade whether you host with Spring Signage or not.

The ability to push updates quickly is exactly why we created XMR in 1.8 series so that you can have a low background refresh rate, and updates pushed to Players within a few seconds (plus whatever time is required to download new media).

It’s not possible with 1.7 series except by lowering the collection interval - however that uses more bandwidth and puts more stress on the Player.

how can I update my trial version to ,1.8?

Log in to our Customer Portal, navigate to Cloud Instances page, select row with your CMS and click ‘Upgrade CMS’ button.
