Intensive Digital Sign Application Question from a NEWBIE

Hello, Newbie here. I have an application trying to develop and cant seem to find the right software. My experience is with mostly industrial, robotic, automation controls, modbus, plc, structured text, etc… NOT digital sign display…I have an application where I need to do something a little outside my skill set and looking for some guidance- I understand this is probably a huge ask…

Tie in a digital sign controller into a programmable controller over MODBUS using ethernet TCP/IP. The controller needs to flag the sign controller to display selected messages up. This is the most important task, hopefully XIBO can be tied into modbus through Netlink or something like that???

Its not as hard a question as you might think - provided you are using the latest 1.8 release.

You will need something on the programmable controller that is capable of generating a HTTP request - once you have that, whichever logic you need in modbus, can create a HTTP request to the Xibo API and change to a pre-set Layout.
