Flickering is not a good thing

Hi every body
I display a simple default layout with the flip clock
Every 3-4 seconds the screen flickers i Wonder why
How can i avoid that ?

The default duration for the Flip Clock is 5 seconds, which causes the screen to briefly go black as the Widget starts again. I would recommend Editing the Clock Widget, ticking the Set duration box and setting a higher duration.

If this does not resolve the issue, please let me know the Version of the CMS and Player you are using.

thanks for your answer but i have to say it’s the same thing when there’s no flip clock in the layout even on a simple default layout with a picture and some text
i 'm using xibo-docker 1.8.8 on ubuntu
and i think it’s player 1.8.8 windows (i’m not a home there)

If you do not set a duration period for a media item, including pictures and text, they will use a default duration which is often in the 5-10 second range.

I would recommend checking the duration of the media images and text in your layout. You can check and edit the duration of a Widget by opening the region it is contained in, selecting the Edit option on the Widget and selecting the Options tab. You will see a check box named Set a Duration. If this is already checked, you will see beneath it a Duration field, which will state, in seconds, how long the duration is.

Another way to check is to select the Modules option in your CMS. This will show all of the Widgets you have installed. If you check along the Image and Text rows, you will see the Default Duration. Unless you have changed these values, by default they are set to 10 seconds for images, 5 seconds for text and 5 seconds for clocks.

If the item is flickering at a similar frequency to the duration period, it is because the item has finished playing and so is loading again to start another loop. I would recommend setting the duration for each item to a higher number to see if this resolves the issue. If it does not, please confirm the duration you have set those items to.

i didn’t used duration since i used duration there’s no flickering anymore in fact i won’t see it because i put a very long period

do you at least have IE11 on the client end?
if not upgrade to ie11
