Is it possible to export layouts from a 1.6 CMS?

I have got some layouts on a 1.6 server that is not in my control and want to move it over to a new server running 1.8.

Is this possible without upgrading? I can’t find the export feature in layouts.

From what I remember the export was not supported in 1.6 series - you could try to upgrade it to at least 1.7.9 and then rebuild the layouts and export them to fresh 1.8.1 (or upgrade your 1.7.9 to 1.8.1).

Thanks for this. We rebuilt the layouts as they needed a refresh anyway.
