Im very new to Xibo and having a crash course in Xampp, Apache and MySQL!! HEAD BATTERED! (inherited in my new job) and so I am looking for advice. Ive seen similar threads on here but basically I would like to know the best way to get an excel bar chart on a shared network drive at my place of work thats regularly updated during the day to show on Xibo as and when the figures are updated.
After searching these forums, I noticed that there was a module called charts that i could use with datasets but I couldnt see it and when I went to install it, it wasnt listed.
This has basically resulted in me completely reinstalling Xibo CMS afresh over the past couple of days (using Xampp apache and Mysql and not the docker Im afraid) and I think Ive got it all working again and this time I do have the charts and calendar modules available and installed but Im struggling to decide if its best to just grab the chart direct from the excel file or use remote datasets - I would love to use the remote dataset option if possible with the chart module as I think Ive got more choice to customise how it looks (and I think my predecessor used the embedded option but the graph only showed in the top middle of the Xibo displays - I want the chart to show full screen) but is there a guide on how to link the data that is being inputted to excel to generate the chart into a dataset if thats the way to go? Im struggling to find one…
