Our xibo display was running fine yesterday with everything updating like it should. This morning, for date reverted back to January 6, 2011, and the time is 8:00 am. Even the weather feed is not working correctly. When I pull up the display in the software everything looks fine but not on the display.
I have restarted the minix box and the tv and nothing has helped.
Suggestions are greatly appreciated.
I am going to guess the units are Android based. It sounds like the units lost power and the internet connection did not come up in time for the units to check a time server. Android units generally do not have a CMOS battery, to hold date/time during a period of non power. When they lose power, once powered back on, they require an internet connection to regain date and time settings.
So if they power cycle and internet is immediately available, this can happen. If you are using schedules to show layouts, you will also notice only the default layout is playing, over and over. That is unless you did some crazy scheduling back to before the default date and time of the units.
