Tried to preview layout, but it is showing a blank screen. How can I fix this?
Next issue, added this layout to a newly added campaign. Did a “schedule now” and selected the appropriate display. But the display is not showing anything else but the xibo screen. (“XIBO. Open Source Digital Signage.”)
The file size upload limit is set to 1GB, that’s not an issue. All the settings seems to be perfect, why do you think that the display is not showing?
Layout Preview uses the browsers built in video playback support and is shown over the network. - if it’s a big video then it may take some time to display it in preview.
The Player playback is downloaded to a player local library and shown from the local disk.
Assuming you have ‘Preview enabled’ in ‘Video’ row on Modules page in your CMS, h264 video should be displayed in the browser. What browser are you using please?
It’s most likely downloading new video and since you modified a layout that was currently displayed on your device, it will show splash screen until it completes the download.
I am using Google Chrome v 51.0.2704.106 m on Windows 10.
I have used the display preview display feature before and it has worked previously. Although, this time the file that I am trying to preview and display is 110MB. Could this be a reason for the delay?
So when Xibo for Windows is open, you press ‘i’ on your keyboard to display status window.
Then you you can take a screenshot of that and send it to us (either here or via pm to me if you prefer that)
The display is up now. Turned out that lot of files were pending on the display, had to clear those out and delete and re-add the display, then assigned the layout to the display. Works well now.
