I’ve tried many encoding formats, but the .mp4 video does not work on this device. The video plays correctly on other devices.

Help me, please

what are you S.O version and what device are you using?

android 8 on hisense 55BM66AE/8159

Try to change the Video Engine on the Display Settings in your CMS:
Test the Android Media player, or Exo Player:

change this, restart your device… if do not work, do the same with the other one.

You can see if the changes where applied at the device status page:

You can do the same at the “Use multiple video decoders”: True or False… test it one by one and check what is better to you device.

Don’t work.
I tried the new Player 405 for Android, but now the app doesn’t even open and it doesn’t allow for configuration.

That is interesting feedback - v4 R405 includes experimental support for Hisense screens, and it sounds like that is incompatible with older versions of Hisense. I will raise a case with their development team to get some answers on that.

Hisense ask if it is 55BM66AE or 55BM66AE(A000)? This information should be available printed on the screen, or via system->about in the android menu.

“Hi Dan, are there any updates on the matter?”

Xibo for Android v4 R406 should be out soon which will work on BM series again, and support more features on the current DM series. This guide covers what is supported:

Unfortunately we’ve not been able to get BM series to a point where we’re happy to say its supported, although we are still in discussions with Hisense.
