Custom Installation, part 2 not found. stuck at /install/2?

on a shared host. with ssh access.

Issue

I am trying to install but I can not get past the checklist.

I uploaded the files and folders from the downloaded zip file into the following folder:
/home/folder1/folder2/folder3/private/xibo
This folder is not accessible trough the domain. So I made a symlink from the following folder:
/home/folder1/folder2/folder3/public_html/xibo/link
to /home/folder1/folder2/folder3/private/xibo/web

I edited the htaccces file because my folder is not in the root to this
RewriteBase /home/folder1/folder2/folder3/private/xibo

If I now go to xibo.mydomain.com/link I see the checklist on the following page:
xibo.mydomain.com/link/install/

Either one of these buttons results in 404.
If I click on “retest” I end up on this page:

xibo . mydomain . com/link/install/1

If I click on “Next” I end up on page:

xibo . mydomain . com/link/install/2?

I have Used Xibo about 5-8 years ago. I really liked it and it was easy to install but this had been beating my head trough the night.

I would like to know what I am missing here and how to test what I should change.

P.S Some creative happines with the links because new users can not use more than 1 imaginative urls

The solution is going to mydomain.com/link/index.php.

It shows the same checkpage but from there all the buttons work. Xibo succesfully installed.

Does this have to do with url rewrite? I assumed because the index page loaded that all was well.
