Communication Timeout

Does the Xibo Android app have a built in time out? Meaning if the internet connection goes down for some time, does the app stop trying to connect, even after the internet connection is restored?

Currently it seems that if we loose an internet connection for a few days, the devices will not reconnect on their own until we either left click the mouse, bring up the status window, or close and reopen the app.

When we bring up the status window, all looks normal except for:
Unable to register due to error: Failed to connect to www.xxx.com/xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx port 80 After 20000ms

If I did the conversion correctly that is 20 seconds. But I would assume it would keep trying.

This is related, but I was the only one to chime in.

Using Android 1.7_R53. These have now been updated to R56.

There was a bug in one of the earlier 1.7 versions where by the register call would fail after some time and then never recover but that has been addressed already.

It’s certainly not the intended behaviour. Once the internet connection comes back, then the Player will resume connecting as soon as it is able to.

I’m not aware of any reports of R56 having issues in that area.

Alex thank you for the response.

Sounds like everything as usual has been quickly addressed and corrected. Thank guys for the great work.
