CMS not giving any display statistics!

Hi all,
i am trying to have the statistics of my screens (Proof of Play) but CMS simply gives me nothing :weary:
It first runs for like 5 minutes and after that throws the following,
“DataTables warning: table id=stats - Ajax error. For more information about this error, please see http://datatables.net/tn/7”.

Any ideas about how to collect the statistics?
I am using 1.8.1 (Both player and CMS)

The best idea would be to upgrade CMS and players to the newest releases, as clearly there is a problem with your installation if you see that error.

It might be something that was already fixed, as 1.8.1 is an old version, if not we can take a look once it’s up to date.

Hi Peter,
this is unfortunate. My installation of 1.8.1 should be fine, i can have statistics from today to today but when i put starting from last week to today i always keep getting the same error. So, i cannot get statistics for past period which is very important. for example. from 01.04.2018 to 01.06.2018 is impossible to get.

If i try from 19.06.2018 to 19.06.2018, i get the statistics.

I’m not sure then, that’s definitely not a problem in current release, hence why I suggested upgrade (assuming this isn’t some environment problem causing that for you).

You’d need to enable CMS auditing / switch to test mode, recreate the problem and see the Log page for more details about the issue.

As far as i can tell,
my log is on but CMS gives no logs at all.
What should i have as “Max log age” and “Max statistics age”?
I mean the values.

It’s up to you what you set. Stats and logs older than those values will be deleted.

You’re trying to export 2 months worth of stats data. That could be several gigabytes on a busy CMS. I’d suggest picking a much smaller date range.

Hi Alex,
If i need 2 months old statistics, my setting value should be 60 days correct?
My current value is 60, i am assuming that it is 60 days not 60 minutes.

If i set the values to from 01.05.2018 to 01.06.2018 which is only 30 days, i get the error.
if i set to 05.05.2018 to 06.05.2018 i still get the error, am i missing something?

Yes it’s in days.

A whole month could still be several gigabytes of results.

I would upgrade the CMS initially as Peter suggests, to ensure you don’t have an issue that is already resolved, and assuming you don’t then you would need to see what is logged CMS side as to why there’s a problem still.

Thanks Alex!
i have sent you a private message.

Hi, sorry for joining the conversation late. I have 1.8.9 installed, and I still get this error. I am trying to get proof of play of a media item that has been playing on multiple displays during december.

Yup, same here, i cannot get results, i get error which has been posted.

I’m afraid I don’t recall the exact issue.

Statistics are only recorded if you have them on @Andreas_H. They are turned off by default, so be sure you have them on.

If you get errors reporting on them, try setting a smaller window for the report as statistics data can be huge and reporting on large ranges can easily cause the server to run out of memory.

Hi Alex,
Mine are turned on.
I am using smaller window with 10 items at the time and i still cannot get the results, i only get the database error after a long while.

Any help or ideas on this will be extremely appreciated.

And this is the error itself,
“DataTables warning: table id=example - Ajax error. For more information about this error, please see http://datatables.net/tn/7

Here is some explanation but not sure if it is accurate.
Proof of play

Can you run it through the report fault wizard please and see what errors are logged?

My apologies,
not sure how should i do that?
Never done such before.

In the CMS, on the main menu is Report Fault.

Run through that, and at the end it’ll give you a zip file, including some logs. Have a look through the logs for any errors relating to the report.

Yes, but,
the proof of play that i am looking to receive is at the past, not now, which means, this won’t be much help.
I have already done it and log explains nothing about proof of play issue IMO.

The following is all i have in the log file,

logId,runNo,logDate,channel,page,function,message,display.display,type
373247,efb2712,"2019-01-24 18:06:01",CONSOLE,/,GET,"Layout ID 2885 has an empty region",ALERT
373248,efb2712,"2019-01-24 18:06:01",CONSOLE,/,GET,"Layout ID 938 has an empty region",ALERT
373249,96262be,"2019-01-24 18:10:08",CONSOLE,/,GET,"Layout ID 2885 has an empty region",ALERT
373250,96262be,"2019-01-24 18:10:08",CONSOLE,/,GET,"Layout ID 938 has an empty region",ALERT

If the statistics have already been deleted, then you won’t be able to report on them.

If they’re still there, then you should be able to report on them, and the messages in the log as a result of running the report fault wizard will be several hundred lines.

Hi Alex,
I still don’t understand this, statistics are there, i just can’t get them out :frowning:

Would be nioce to know why the error and why it does not give the statistics.
