Client sync after Server reboot

Hi,

first of all, almost everything works well so far :slight_smile:

We found, that after a server reboot (on which the CMS runs), the windows clients won’t synchronize unless we stop the task manually and let the watchog start it again. With only a few clients this is no problem, but if we have to kill the task an a few dozen client machines this is time consuming…

Is this a normal behavior or is there a setting to “re-sync” the clients after a server reboot automatically?

The clients connect on a polling interval, so there’s no difference to them whether the server has been rebooted or not.

I suspect that you’re making changes to layouts with very long durations on them, and so the players are still showing the old layout version, and therefore appear not to be updating.

You should either use shorter durations, or enable the option to expire modified layouts in the Display Settings Profile in the CMS for your type of Players.
