Choppy Video Playback on Windows

Issue

I’ve tried everything to resolve this. Anyone else having this issue?

It’s a MeLe Mini Fanless PC with an Intel Celeron N5105 and 8GB RAM. Video playback has worked fine in the past on this hardware. We have a quite a few of these, but most are just running static image playlists. Not sure if it’s Windows/driver issue or a Xibo player issue.

There is an error message on the player. “video running past watchman end check”.

With the information provided, it is difficult to properly troubleshoot this, if not impossible. At this point it is mostly guesswork. In most cases, the player is simply lacking resources. That would also align with the fact that images run reliably while videos bring the client to its knees. I have been through the same thing myself.

From my side, I can only suggest a workaround here: If it is still just a single video in a loop, upload the video twice and alternate between two layouts. If that does not help, use this rather brute-force method as a temporary fix: create a schedule that regularly sends a reboot command to the player before it has a chance to lock up.
