Black Bars around my LED Billboard

Hello! :waving_hand:
I am working on a LED Billboard that is supposed to show some animated content. After playing around with the CMS and player, I managed to get the Player to display on the “second monitor”, which in my case is the LED Screen. Now for some reason, even tho iv set the resolution and offset to the values I need, the player shows a black boarder around the video. Almost as if zoomed out. I tried setting different scales to both screens but that just made it worse.

Attached to this post are a couple of screenshots of the billboard. I marked the area that is being displayed on.

Thanks in advance

Player Version

4.404.1 for Windows

Issue

Video in player doesnt scale correctly and shows black boarders around the video.

Here a direct image of what is being displayed. The pixel size of the Display and the video used are exactly the same, yet the video appears smaller then the display itself should be

Hi @NextLevelDev, and Welcome to the Xibo Community!
Is the resolution correct in the Display Settings in Windows?

Yep. Resolution is set to match both the video and the display.
I even tried both setting a display profil and also setting it manuelly on the display.

What is the resolution of the display, please?

Can you send a screenshot of the Windows Display Settings showing that the resolution is set correctly there?

Have you created a resolution on the ‘Resolutions’ page of the CMS and set the layout/media/playlist to use this?

The Display is 2560x1792.

Here the settings for the display. The Left Coordinate is to make the display appear on the PCs second monitor.

And here is the custom resolution I made for the display

Thanks for the screenshots, however unfortunately those are not what I meant by Windows Display Settings.

Please can you send a screenshot of the ‘Display resolution’ set for the LED Billboard in Windows?
E.g.

I managed to solve it. Turns out, the video editing software we used exported the video in a broken resolution. While the video file SEEMED to be the correct resolution, it wasnt.

Thank you for the help regardless. All this trial and error to fix it has given me a good insight into how the CMS works and I am excited to make more cool stuff with it

Thanks again!

That’s great to hear and you are most welcome!

If its not secret, what size is that TV display or is that some stacked led panels?

Its LED Panels. All in all, the resolution is 2560x1792 pixels

Thanks for info on resolution!
That is pretty high for that panel size
I have few more Q’s if is not a problem:

How many DPI are on that LED panels ?
What is the total height and width of the red area on picture ?
How many panels did you need to use to cover this area ?
Do you have any video how display works/looks in action (night/day)?

IMHO it would be good to start naming video editing software that is not producing good video exports for Xibo players of any type.
