Hello,
I created a layout with a video of 20 seconds , and a webwidget with a audio stream.
Works perfect, with the sound on the TV, but every 20 secs it restarts the video, and the sound is shortly disrupted (the layout is restarted.? Is there a way that the sound keeps playing?
Can you confirm the total duration of the Layout and the Web widget? Can you also confirm the version of the Xibo Player you are using?
You are welcome to export the layout and upload it using the below link. You can then send me the URL of the upload in a private message, so I can test the Layout on my setup.
Many Thanks.
The total duration of the video is 20 seconds, so the layout is also 20 secs. I send you the link
regards,
Gee
Thank you for the link. After testing the Layout, I found the best solution was to increase the duration of both the Webpage and Video widgets to a length that would best suit your setup. For testing, I set them to 300 seconds.
I also edited the Video Widget and ticked the ‘Loop?’ checkbox to allow the video to continue to display for the 300 seconds.
Please note that this does not remove the brief period that the Video/Audio stops, but now it only happens once every 5 minutes. You can of course set this duration to any length you prefer, just make sure both regions are set to the same.
If you continue to experience any playback issues, please let me know.
Many Thanks.
Thanks Dan,
The length of the layout is limited to 20secs, so i have every 20 sec a gap.
Another solution could be using VLC on the background on the DS-android device.
Then start the Xibo Android application.
This works fine until a video starts (Within Xibo), it seems to surpress the sound (or even better take over the sound of the video). Even if i mute the video in Xibo this happens.
Is there any solution within xibo that the android app only controls the video, and not the audio?
The reason: We have a lot of phone-repair companies, who want to use the TV for:
A) the presentation of commercials by xibo
B) The audio for background music (by a external music stream
Thx!
Xibo does not affect other apps running on your device. If you have multiple apps running, Xibo will not stop the other apps or limit their performance.
If you find that VLC is stopping when the Layout comes to an end, it may be due to the hardware you are using. If the device does not have enough system resources, it may be interrupting your VLC stream to use the resources to restart your Xibo Layout.
As mentioned in my previous message, I was able to play both the Radio stream and Video within the Layout, by extending the duration of both the Video Widget and Web page Widget to a larger value. As an example, I set both to 300 seconds, meaning that the video would continue to loop for 300 seconds without a black screen, whilst the Radio stream played. After 300 seconds I would then briefly see the Black screen while the Layout reloaded before it continued without interruption for a further 300 seconds. You can of course set this to a higher value if you prefer.
Many Thanks.

It does… XIBO stops the stream. we tested this on a DSCS9 player.
It happens exact when the video in the layout is shown/played.
Any way to avoid that?
Using a webplayer in the layout:
This works if you have 1 video. If you have 2 or more video’s in order and in another region the webplayer, the webplayer stops as soon as the second video starts…
How to prevent that and make that the sound keeps playing when having more video’s?
Thank you
I have been testing the issue you have been experiencing further and have found that the audio is not interrupted if you instead use a Local Video Widget instead of a Web Page Widget. I can also confirm that adding a second video to the Layout also did not interrupt the Radio stream.
You can alternatively create a layout that only contains the Videos you wish to display and a separate Layout for the Radio Stream, making the region that contains the Radio very small, as you did before. You can then schedule the Video Layout as you would normally. For the Radio Layout, you can schedule a separate Event, but change the Event Type to Overlay Layout. This will cause the Videos to display whilst the Radio Overlay Plays independently, allowing you to set a longer duration for the Radio Layout from the Video.
Your internet Radio link is an mpeg stream, which is why it is better suited for use with the Local Video Widget instead of Web Page.
If you continue to experience issues with the Layout, please let me know.
Many Thanks.
Hi Dan,
Indeed this works fine (the overlay solution)
Many thanks!
