API Call through Postman in cms 1.7.9

could some one help me that how to use Postman for xibo cms 1.7.9
for some reason i am not using xibo 1.8
i am using Authorization type OAuth 1.0

Second thing when i posting something on my XiboCms through postman it’s not showing on CMS

As I believe I’ve mentioned a few times already, those API calls you have there (presumably from my API introduction guide), are only for 1.8 series and will not work in earlier versions.

There were different paths, different calls and most of them weren’t even in the code before 1.8 series.

I believe this http://xibo.org.uk/2014/02/19/scripting-xibo-content-management-a-brief-tour-of-the-api/ will be applicable to earlier versions, but honestly if you want to use API calls reliably you will need to upgrade the CMS to 1.8.2 version.

Once you have that, then current API documentation, my guide etc will help you to create what you need.

Peter i am agree with you but my project manager is not allowing me to use 1.8 version
he said version 1.8 some bugs :frowning: :’(

Well, there are some bugs reported in 1.8.2 that should be fixed in the next release, I don’t believe there is anything especially bad there though, while 1.8.1 indeed had some annoying problems, that’s already fixed.

If your PM or you have tested 1.8.2 and found some problems, then I’m happy to read any reports you may have about it, perhaps it’s something that we’ve missed in our currently reported issues which are available here - https://github.com/xibosignage/xibo/milestone/25

Meaning 1.8.2 has no bugs it’s a stable version ?

i am sending your screenshot to him :relaxed:

I’ve no idea what version you PM seen or if he did see any 1.8 series, but yes since 1.8.0 release (ie after all alphas and release candidates versions) it is a stable release, 1.8.2 is the newest version.

There is no software that has no bugs at all, that’s simply not possible, so I can’t say that there are no bugs in 1.8.2, in fact you can see the list of confirmed bugs in the link I’ve mentioned in my previous post.
